This project was about the conceptualization of a book about the natural and human aspects of the Galapagos Islands.
The idea came up because there are numerous publications about flora and fauna but there is little within our reach that highlights the human aspect and how the environment has changed over the years (life experiences, anecdotes, love, beliefs). My goal was to highlight the voices of its people.
The project consisted in three phases: Research, Execution, Design and Production. During the execution. phase, interviews took place with members of the Galapagos community who stand out on their own merits.
Research: Defined a narrative structure through in-depth field research and interviews with notable community members.
Concept development and execution: Shaped a visual and editorial language that balances scientific insight with emotional storytelling.
Design and production: Illustration, editorial layout, and print production to create a cohesive, compelling final piece.
This work represents a convergence of culture, nature, and design, and demonstrates my ability to lead a multidisciplinary project from concept to execution with cultural sensitivity and strategic intent.
